What you can build with the Public API

The Public API serves your location data in a format any website or service can read.

Store Locators

Build a store locator that always reflects your current data. Addresses, hours, and contact details update automatically, so customers never see stale information.

Landing Pages

Power dynamic landing pages that show relevant details for each location, such as opening hours or services, pulled directly from PinMeTo.

AI Tools

Give your internal AI tools and assistants accurate, up-to-date location information to work with.

Other Integrations

Connect any service that benefits from fresh location data. Because the endpoint is public and read-only, integration needs no credential setup.

Power a store locator that never goes stale

The Public API pairs naturally with our store locator and local pages. Build a custom locator on your own stack, or run PinMeTo's Locator and Local Pages, and let your live listing data keep every address, opening hour, and detail current automatically.

Built for developers

A developer can connect directly once the Public API is enabled and you have created an App.

  • No access token required; each request includes your sitename and App id in the path
  • Fetch all locations or a single location by store ID
  • A test server is available for development before you go live

Read-only by design

The Public API is read-only and serves data without authentication, so only use it for information you intend to publish, such as a store locator or website. It sits alongside the authenticated PinMeTo API Suite: the Locations API writes and syncs data, the Insights API pulls performance metrics, and the Media API manages images. Use the Public API when you simply need to read and publish live location data.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the PinMeTo Public API?

The Public API is a read-only connection to your PinMeTo location data, served from a CDN at public.pinmeto.com. It lets you feed store locators, landing pages, internal AI tools, and other services with the same location information you manage in Listings, so those tools stay accurate without manual updates.

How is the Public API different from the Locations, Insights, and Media APIs?

The Public API is read-only and needs no access token or OAuth flow. The Locations, Insights, and Media APIs in the PinMeTo API Suite are authenticated and built for writing and syncing data, pulling performance metrics, and managing media. Use the Public API when you only need to read and publish live location data.

Do I need an access token?

No. Reading data needs no access token or OAuth. Each request includes your sitename and the App id you create in your account, both passed in the request URL.

How do I enable the Public API?

The Public API is not self-serve. Contact PinMeTo support to discuss your use case. Once access is enabled for your account, go to Account Settings, open Public API, and create an App. Creating the App gives you the id used in the request URL.

Is my location data exposed publicly?

The Public API makes the location data it serves publicly readable without authentication. Only use it for data you intend to publish, for example on a store locator or website.

What can I build with it?

Common uses are store locators, dynamic landing pages, and internal AI tools, plus any other integration that benefits from fresh location data. PinMeTo also provides ready-made example requests to help developers get started quickly.
